Johann Lauremberg, also Johannes Lauremberg, occasionally incorrect: Johann Wilhelm Laurenberg (* 26 February 1590 in Rostock; † 28 February 1658 in Sorø, Denmark) was a mathematician and cartographer as well as a Low German poet and writer of the Baroque period. As a pseudonym he used the name "Hans Willmsen L. Rost." (= Johann, son of Wilhelm Lauremberg Rostochiensis).
fascinating volume in Low German or Low Saxon (Niedersächsisch / Nederduits)
The satirical Veer Schertzgedichte, in which Lauremberg mocks fashionable follies of his time, were translated into High German by Constantin Christian Dedekind in 1654, and was newly published under the title "De nye poleerte Utiopische Bockes-Büdel. o. J." (c. 1700)
