Nota:
Baron Hans Paul von Wolzogen (1848-1938) was a German nationalist and anti-Semitic writer, editor, librettist and publisher. He is best known for his connection with Richard Wagner.
In 1877, Richard Wagner brought Wolzogen to Bayreuth, where he initially edited and published the journal Bayreuther Blätter from 1878 to 1938. From 1878, he lived in Schillerstraße, not far from Wagner's house Wahnfried. At times, Wagner regretted having appointed Wolzogen to Bayreuth, as he felt compelled to employ him and write essays for the journal. After Wagner's death, Wolzogen became a central figure in the so-called "Wahnfried Circle", which attempted to charge Wagner's work with pseudo-religious significance.
