Founded in 1899, the Professional Association of Dramatic and Musical Criticism previously existed in the form of a circle since 1872 then a Circle of Dramatic and Musical Criticism from 1877. The conditions to be eligible are numerous and modify as the profession evolves. In 1902, the name changed and became Professional and Mutual Union Association of Dramatic and Musical Criticism. Now a mutual company, the association can intervene in the context of benefits, illnesses, old age, death, etc. In 1947, until then very closed, the association extended the notion of criticism to all critics through the press, the book, printing, conference, screen and radio broadcasting, theatrical and sound shows, broadcasts and auditions. In 1960, the association became the Professional Union of Dramatic and Musical Criticism. Today the association still exists under the name Professional Association of Theater, Music and Dance Critics. - Permalink:
