Nota:
Tosca, a Spanish mathematician, architect, philosopher and theologian, belonged to a group of intellectuals who set out to found a Valencian scientific society (similar to those existing in Europe), and who, aware of Spain's scientific backwardness, set themselves the task of assimilating and disseminating in Valencian and Spanish intellectual circles the new knowledge and methods brought about by the scientific revolution of the 17th century.
Originally published in 1709
Tosca's 'Compendio mathematico' was published from 1707 to 1715
Last part of the treatise is called 'Tratado IV de la musica especulativa, y practica'
