Beautiful classicist print with engravings and a portrait of Doni
Giovanni Battista Doni was a well-known lawyer, classical scholar, critic and musical theorist. He published about ancient music but also on modern music theory.
This books gives representations of classical inscriptions, with their transcriptions (as the original texts are often full of abbreviations). The stones on which the inscriptions are found are represented typographically and sometimes depicted in illustrations. This book was published after Doni's death by Gori.
