- Hientzsch was a German music teacher. From 1828 to 1837 he worked as a part-time editor of the music educational journal "Eutonia", he was editor of the music journal "Das musikalische Deutschland" and of collections of church hymns for school use.
Eutonia was founded in 1828. The main subjects of the journal were: 1. history of music. 2. theory of music, especially harmony and counterpoint. 3. chant. 4. Choral along with the musical liturgy or agendas. 5. organ and organ playing. 6. on the learning of some other instruments. 7. on examinations in music. 8. biographies. 9. news and reports. 10. reading fruits and miscellanies.
