- Nota:
- His Stabat Mater was commissioned in 1781 for the Las Arenas church by his employer, the infant Don Luis. The text is based on a text dating from the thirteenth century and attributed to Jacopone da Todi, which meditates on the suffering of Mary at the crucifixion. Its first version is based on a soprano voice intimately mixed with the string quintet (two violins, one viola, two cellos) forming a sextet. It is composed of 11 parts and lasts about three quarters of an hour. The musician took up the score again nearly twenty years later (in 1800), adding an overture (first movement of the symphony op. 35 no. 4 of 1782) and three voices: sopranos and tenor. The orchestra part is not touched despite the number of players. The reworked version corresponds to opus 61 of the musician's catalog.
