Taller was born on 24 November 1655 in Rott am Inn, in the shadow of the Benedictine monastery there, which was quite important until secularisation and where he also took his vows on 24 October 1679. He went to Ingolstadt to study theology and law, then worked in his home monastery as a librarian and administrator of the economy, but also as a preacher for his confreres and the surrounding rural communities. The practical pastoral ministry seems to have been particularly dear to him. - Permalink:
