The first part mainly contains dances (Valses, Polkas, Marches), the second mainly transcriptions of and variations on popular melodies (e.g., La Marseillaise) and operatic repertoire: piano reductions of Mozart's 'Zauberflöte' and 'Don Giovanni', 'Bellini's 'Norma' and 'Sonnambula', Rossini's 'Guillaume Tell', and Donizetti's 'Lucrezia Borgia', a piano version of 'La Folle, Romance' for voice and piano by Grisar (c. 1830)
Two interleaves in a different hand, one of which is composed for "violino primo" and includes Dutch indications for repetitions and tempo
The great success of his romance 'La Folle' helped Grisar gain admission to La Monnaie in Brussels.
