Nota:
Pierre Moreau was a French master writer, caligrapher, engraver and printer.
Extraordinary fine palm-sized caligraphic book of prayers, dedicated by the printer Jean Henault (16..-1673) to the French King Louis XIII
Originally published in 1634
Pierre Moreau appears in typographic history as a meteor: brilliant, even dazzling, but ephemeral. Coming from calligraphy, he only came to typography at the end of his career. In 1643, probably protected, Moreau became the king's printer; between 1643 and his death in 1648 he published about thirty works with his typefaces, mainly devotional texts and poetic or dramatic texts. Their typographic particularity and the sharpness of their printing make them still sought after today.
