Nota:
Charles-François Clément (1719-1799) was a harpsichord teacher in Paris. Besides the Journal, he adapted several Italian operas for Parisian audiences, notably Niccolò Jommelli's 'L'Uccelatrice', which he renamed 'La Pipée', and Rinaldo di Capua's 'La Zingara', renamed 'La Bohémienne'. These two works were staged in 1766. Among his original works are a series of pieces for violin and harpsichord and three songs '(Le départ des guerriers' & 'Le retour des guerriers' in 1750 and 'Le Célibat' in 1762). He also wrote two theoretical books, 'Essai sur l'accompagnement du clavecin' (1758) and' Essai sur la basse fondamentale' (1762).
