Marc-Michel Rey (1720-1780) was a Huguenot printer from Geneva who in 1744 moved to Amsterdam, where he succeeded to Jean-Frédéric Bernard. He was in personal touch with Rousseau. In 1769, Rey issued an 11-volume edition of the "Œuvres de J.-J. Rousseau de Genève. Nouvelle édition revue, corrigée & augmentée de plusieurs morceaux qui n'avoient point encore paru and three volumes of Œuvres diverses". He became the publisher of Voltaire, Rousseau, Diderot, Holbach, etc.
