a| The catalogue, which is the result of the joint work of art and music historians, analytically describes the history and content of the collection of portraits of musicians started around 1770 by the Franciscan musicographer Giambattista Martini and continued in the 19th and 20th centuries, today in the Music Museum of the city of Bologna. Among the 312 paintings are famous portraits of Zarlino, Caldara, Porpora, Farinelli, Gluck, J.C. Bach, Mozart, Isabel Colbran, Lord Burghersh, Rossini, Martucci, M.E. Bossi.
