a| Amédée Reuchsel was a French composer and organist. He studied music at the Conservatories of Brussels and Paris; in the latter he had as teacher in composition the master Gabriel Fauré. He obtained the position of organist of the church of Saint Dionysus in Paris and in 1908 he was awarded the Chartier prize for chamber music. His father Léon (1840-1915) was also a musician, as were his brother Maurice (1880-1968) and his son Eugène (1900-1988).
