a| Godelieve (Godoleva / Sainte Godelive ) is a romantic opera composed by the Flemish composer Edgar Tinel with dutch lyrics written by Hilda Ram (pseud. Mathilda Ramboux, 1858-1901) and about the life of Saint Godelieve van Gistel.The piece was performed for the first time in Brussels on the occasion of the 1897 World Exhibition. Various performances followed at home and abroad. Godelieve is a music drama that lasts about 3.5 hours and is written for large choir, orchestra and soloists.
