a| The stock exchange was completely destroyed on 20 December 1943 during an Allied air raid during the Second World War. The ruins remained standing for a long time and were only demolished after the Chamber of Commerce sold the site to the city in 1957. Prior to this, in 1951/1952, the Chamber of Commerce had organised an ideas-competition for the development of the site, in which 128 architects took part. However, the ideas were not pursued any further.
