a| Philippe Chifflet was a theologian, Cistercian abbot and author from the learned Chifflet family. As chaplain and chaplain, he was an important figure at the court of Brussels. In 1640, Chifflet published a fine and highly successful edition of the decrees of the Council of Trent, in collaboration with the Antwerp publisher-printer Balthasar I Moretus.
