a| A picaresque novel, in the style of Le Sage’s Gil Blas. Thibault was governor of Talmont, and this is his only known work. Set in Spain, it deals with the love story of a rogue, facing the galleys. It was enormously popular, being translated into English, German, Iberian, and Castillian. Also published under the title: Histoire comique et galante de Pédrille del Campo.
