a| The controversy caused by Bélisaire led to a condemnation by the Sorbonne's Faculty of Theology in December 1767, and on January 31, 1768, the Archbishop of Paris, Mgr de Beaumont, condemned Bélisaire in a mandement that he had read at the preaching of all the churches in the diocese.
