a| Emilio Wilhelm Ramsøe was trained as a violinist and at the age of seventeen was already traveling around Norway as a conductor with Miller's company of actors, then with Lewini's group. From 1857 to 1864 he was music director at Copenhagen's Alhambra amusement park. During this time, he wrote numerous musical arrangements and potpurris in addition to original compositions. From 1864 to 1875 he was conductor at the Folketeatret. During this time he arranged and composed music for musical comedies and vaudevilles, including 'Gøngehøvdingen', 'Kanariefuglen' and the present work, 'Svantevits Datter'.
