a| XVI plates including 7 large leaflets, printed on fine strong paper. The plans are by Weiss, with fine cartridges and present Strasbourg and its construction at various times. Weiss - also spelled Weis - was a famous engraver from the city of Strasbourg, we owe him the festive book of Louis XV in Strasbourg. Here he has cured cartouches and pays homage to Gutenberg in one of these cartouches. As for Silbermann, he is surely better known as an organ builder than as a historian.
