a| Giovanni Coli was a castrato at the Königliches Opernhaus of Berlin who regularly sang for Frederick the Great at Sanssouci castle in Potsdam. His letter refers to an "Aria con il flauto". Coli also asks for an aria from 'Rodelinda', which most probably refers to Carl Heinrich Graun's opera 'Rodelinda regina de' Longobardi' (Berlin, 1741; GraunWV B:I:6).
