a| Very little is known about Vincenzo Panerai (1750-1790), other than that he studied composition alongside Luigi Cherubini in Florence. Cherubini is known to have praised the performance of Panerai's music in the latter city in the 1770s. A teacher and author of several didactic works (see 03I10), Panerai published one of the few fingering tables for flute surviving from Italy during the second of the eighteenth century.
