a| Under the pseudonym Dares Phrygius (a Trojan priest of Hephaestus), a Latin novel on the Trojan War entitled Acta diurna belli Troiani was published in the 5th century. This apparently goes back to a lost Greek original and represents a counter-draft to the work of Dictys Cretensis (4th century) , which treats the same material from a Greek perspective.
