a| Wilhelmine En(c)ke (also called Wilhelmina von Enk, Countess of Lichtenau (1753-1820) also called Countess of Dunkelheim, was the mistress of Frederik Willem II King of Prussia. During her lifetime, she was the subject of satire, and following fake memoirs, she published her own. After the king's death, his son immediately had Wilhelmine investigated for treason and embezzlement, among other things. Although the investigations came to nothing, Lichtenau was taken into fortress custody and banished to Glogau. In 1800, all her assets were confiscated and she received a pension instead. It was not until 1811 that Lichtenau was fully rehabilitated, after she had been partially compensated for her expropriated property in 1809 - at the intervention of Napoleon I - and allowed to return to Berlin.
