a| Since 2004, Oksana Pasaiko has been working on a series called “Short Sad Texts (Based on the Borders of Countries)”. It consists of pieces of hand soap on which human hair were meticulously fixed in lines, as a metaphoric representation of contested borders. She argues that these borders did not arise from natural features such as rivers, mountains, seas, or lakes, but from human conflicts.
