a| This book has been published on the occasion of Marina Pinsky’s solo show at Gluck50, in Milan. Her work reflects on history and architecture, on art movements and human mobility in the city of Milan, and the area surrounding Milano Centrale, where the gallery venue is based. By depicting this environment, Pinsky filters these aspects through her own perspective and research, and places them accordingly to the exhibition context. She draws patterns on the walls as a railroad, in a series of miniature train tracks and sculptures populated by ants, revoking the outside urban structure and their inhabitants—from the vault of Romanesque churches to the clean lines of Italian Rationalist architecture and Renaissance silhouettes—creating a unique and original system that brings the city and its inhabitants in a new space-time logic, rewriting both the linearity of history and our urban imaginary.
